Over the past 12 years we have added top hockey minds and strategic business partners to our team in order to grow Top Draft Hockey in to a premier boutique agency and advisory group. With six regional offices across North America and Europe, and our head office minutes from Canada's Parliament Hill, TDH is able to provide our staff and clients with round-the-clock mentoring and guidance in all corners of the globe.

 

Our front office consists of former NHL executives and draft picks, former OHL managers and scouts, MBA, B.Comm, Sports Admin and Kinesiology graduates, agents pursuing NHLPA certification, and some of the brightest hockey development staff you will find. We have negotiated contracts at every level of hockey from pro to college to major junior, and we are well versed in the NCAA protocol having five former NCAA players on staff.

 

In addition, over the past 8 seasons, TDH has designed and executed North America's leading development and exposure camps by brining together 12 NHL Scouts and 12 NCAA Coaches to evaluate and coach our athletes at the camps. These camps have seen over 200 players sign contracts or make verbal commitments as a direct result of the world-class personnel in attendance. No other camp in the world houses as many NHL and NCAA staff at a summer development event.

 

 

 

What does the position entail?


Camp Director:

The candidate will be tasked with recruitment, marketing and preparation for all summer camps and in-season camps/clinics. Recruitment for each Top Draft Hockey camp is done through an invite-only format; game scouting, phone calls and in-person meetings. In addition to recruitment, the candidate will be responsible for securing sponsorship, arena and hotel bookings, liaison for NHL and NCAA personnel, camp registration and scheduling.


Area Scouts:

The candidates will be responsible for scouting and servicing current TDH clients and recommending potential new clients. From minor hockey to pro, the candidate will establish a scouting network at all levels of play and seek out players that fit our company's criteria. Scouting and expense reports to be submitted on a timely manner, create depth charts of junior teams and college programs, communicate with players and families via phone calls, emails and in-person meetings.

 

Agents & Advisors:

Work directly with current TDH clients and their families. Establish and build a client list that reflects our mission statement and company values. Work diligently to promote all TDH clients and interact directly with team personnel. Develop clients through game evaluations, training programs and video review. Contract negotiations, promotion, assisting in trades, and player development are just a few of the many roles of our agents and advisors.

 


What are the requirements?

•  All candidates must possess a strong knowledge of the game and the ability to identify potential prospects.
•  A college or university degree in economics, business, sports administration or sport law is preferred, but not mandatory.
•  A thorough understanding of the NHL CBA and a keen understanding of advanced hockey analytics is preferred.
•  All applicants must possess the ability to keep composure in high pressure situations.  Negotiation skills, outstanding people skills and strong verbal and written communication skills are a must.
•  Flexibility to work nights and weekends is a must.
